Quality
Powermet are experienced in managing the specified standards that apply to companies operating within the electricity sector and understand the need for total confidence in the supply chain process.
To give the reassurance these companies need, Powermet continually reviews and updates all QA procedures and industry accreditations required within the electricity industry.
We distribute products for market leading manufacturers and place great importance on their quality assurance (QA) procedures and required product testing in line with BS standards.
Powermet can provide complete product traceability from the manufacturer through to the delivery to our customer.
We have ISO 9001 accreditation, which is strictly monitored with regular inspections, together with membership of Achilles UVDB and RISQS (formerly known as Achillies Link Up) through our dealings with the electricity utility and rail industries respectively.

ISO 9001: ISO 9001 is the International Standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). It provides a company with a set of principles that ensure a common sense approach to the management of its business activities to consistently achieve customer satisfaction.

UVDB: Achilles UVDB is the community for the UK utilities industry. It enables the utilities sector to use Achilles’ proven supplier pre-qualification system to manage risk within the supply chain.

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme for fleet operators aimed at raising the level of quality within fleet operations and demonstrating which operators achieve exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.
We are focused on delivering a first class service and take pride in the quality of our products and the knowledge our team offers every single day.
Social Responsibility
At Powermet we understand that the impact of our operations and our corporate culture and ethos, extends beyond our direct business environment and involves our employees, customers, suppliers, stakeholders and community partners.
Our three main Corporate Social Responsibility priorities are:
Environmental
Powermet is committed to implementing improvements to our business operations to help us achieve maximum levels of resource efficiency and waste reduction to ultimately reduce our carbon footprint. As a small company these measures may be modest in terms of the impact they will have, but our commitment to our environmental responsibility is ongoing and continuous.
Community and Philanthropy
Wherever possible we believe we should put something back into the community that has helped us attain our commercial success, by identifying opportunities where we can promote and engender inclusivity and accessibility in areas such as sport, education, the provision of amenities with the core objective to improve the quality of life for everyone. Our philanthropic contributions extend far beyond our immediate community and also involves more than monetary aid. We respond to global disasters, regularly fundraise for National charities and not-for-profit organisations and also encourage our employees to identify their own charitable causes and offer our support.
Economical
As a successful and profitable company we are committed to helping the wealth creation of the local economy by recruiting locally and setting corporate objectives to expand our operations to create further employment opportunities. It is also our policy wherever practicable to procure goods and services from local suppliers to help develop and sustain a vibrant business community.
As custodians of Powermet CSR statement and objectives, and whilst it is not mandatory and therefore enforceable, we feel it is ultimately the directors’ responsibility to be guided by its contents and encourage others within the sphere of our influence to do the same.
