Through our wood recycling scheme, Powermet has rescued 1 Tonne of wood from going to waste! We have managed to save valuable wood from going to landfill, whilst helping a small, local social enterprise to support people with challenges to employment.
The certificate is to show the environmental impact that we had by choosing to use recycling companies over a regular skip – please do share it on your social media channels and tag us in it to help spread the word.
It’s been incredible to see what we’ve achieved with The WoodShack in 2023-24. Here are just some of the highlights:
- 644.4 tonnes rescued from the waste stream
- 321.0 tonnes of CO2 saved
- 2 Apprentices have successfully completed their Customer Service apprenticeship and have gone on to paid employment
- 10 people (including volunteers and work experience placements) have been trained
- Paid employment for 2 Survivors of Modern Slavery
- A new product range including bird houses and storage crates that can now be ordered online.
